Rare Hamilton “Sentinel” men’s Retro Modern design TWA presentation wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1943.

Hamilton has a long history with Transcontinental & Western Air dating back to the early 1930s, when TWA adopted Hamilton as its official watches for pilots and crew. During World War II, TWA purchased some specially-engraved examples of the “Sentinel” model as presentation watches to its personnel serving in the military. Although production quantities are unknown, it is quite rare and this is one of only a few I have ever seen. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light brassing to the edges of the bezel. Caseback is excellent and engraved with the TWA logo and Christmas 1943. Case measures 36mm long and 29mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987S manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
