Scarce Hamilton "Curtiss” men’s Retro Modern design presentation wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1954.
With its large hinged lugs, the "Curtiss" was one of the heaviest gold watches that Hamilton offered in the 1950s and was priced at $135.00 in 1954. It is a scarce model and this is only the second example I've offered in 20 years. It is in crisp, excellent condition showing almost no wear. Case edges are razor sharp and the hinged lugs are tight. Caseback is excellent, with a Hamilton-factory etched presentation inscription from H.J. Heinz Company. Case measures 44mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is excellent with very slight patina, has solid 18K gold applied numerals and countersunk brilliant silver pearlized dots. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 754 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
