Scarce Hamilton “Rutledge” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid platinum, circa 1936.


The “Rutledge” was Hamilton’s most expensive regularly-catalogued men’s wristwatch in the 1930s, priced at $175.00 in 1936. This example is in crisp, near mint condition showing almost no wear, only a few faint marks. The brushed and polished case finishes are superb. Caseback is superb, with a discreet monogram. The case measures 37mm long and 22mm wide. Refinished inlaid enamel dial is superb, has solid 18K gold applied numerals plated in rhodium. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Has vintage 1930s gray calfskin strap in excellent condition.
