Extremely rare Hamilton "Tiffany & Co. Chevy Chase C" ladies' Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 18K yellow gold, circa 1929.

Hamilton and Tiffany & Co. had a long relationship dating back to the 1920s, and when Tiffany wanted high-end watches for its stores, it chose Hamilton along with other prestigious makers such as Patek Philippe, IWC, Longines, and Movado. Hamilton produced special versions of some of its wrist and pocket models for Tiffany, with "Tiffany & Co." on the dial instead of "Hamilton." These special watches were then boxed and sold by Tiffany in its stores at a premium cost over the conventional Hamilton models available from regular jewelers. All of the Tiffany & Co. Hamiltons are rare. Hamilton records show that only 17 examples of the "Chevy Chase C" were produced for Tiffany, and sold from 1929 to 1931. This is the only example I have ever seen. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent, with the inside correctly marked "Tiffany & Co." and a monogram on the outside. The case measures 31mm long and 17mm wide. Inlaid enamel dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 989 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Has original floral design winding crown.
