Elgin “Model 1480” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in Veritas metal, circa 1936.

The “Model 1480” was cased in Veritas metal (non-magnetic stainless steel) and priced at $19.00 in 1936. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing almost no wear. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 36mm long and 29mm wide. Original new old stock dial is superb, has gold embossed markers. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 485 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Vintage Elgin pigskin strap is excellent.
