Rare Bulova “Apex” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1951.

I have never seen this Bulova model before and have been unable to find the true name of this rare model on the Bulova collector websites or in vintage advertisements, but its unusual heavy gold case was made by the Apex Case Co. of New York. Bulova usually had its cases made by its subsidiary, American Standard, and a case from an outside manufacturer is highly unusual for Bulova. This model has a large faceted and hooded lugs. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram. The case measures 35mm long and 23 wide. Original tone-tone dial has a diamond pattern and gold embossed numerals and markers. Has new acrylic crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Bulova 8AC manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $550.
