Elgin Wadsworth “Dayton” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 10K yellow rolled gold plate and steel, circa 1953.
Elgin purchased the Wadsworth Case Company in the early 1950s and introduced a line of inexpensive watches using the Wadsworth name. This "Dayton" model was priced at $19.95 and named for Wadsworth's factory in Dayton, Kentucky. It is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 38mm long and 30mm wide. Original dial is superb. Acrylic crystal is excellent. This watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Wadsworth manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
