Scarce Hamilton "Douglas" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1940.
The "Douglas" is a reincarnation of the 1936/1937 "Morley" model. It has the same case as the "Morley" but was redesigned with a spectacular coral finish dial with rhodium-plated 18K gold applied numerals and matching rhodium-plated hands. It was pictured only the 1940 and 1941 catalogues. It is a scarce watch with an exceptional case and dial such as this example. It is in excellent condition with only a few tiny specks of brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved with no wear spots. The case measures 35mm long and 27mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Original coral finish dial is excellent. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987A manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Has original stepped crown.
