Rare Elgin “Madame Agnes” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill with green enamel bezel, circa 1928.

Part of Elgin's fabulous "Parisienne" series of watches designed by the famous couture houses of Paris, the “Madame Agnes” model features abstract sunray designs in jade green enamel on the bezel. It was designed by the famous French milliner Agnes Rittener whose shops were on the Rue St. Honore in Paris. It was priced to consumers at $35.00 in 1928 and is rare in green. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Green enamel is superb and complete. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few small specks of brassing in the corners. The case measures 30mm long and 17mm wide. Original dial is excellent, with some slight patina. Glass crystal is superb. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 488 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
