Extremely rare Hamilton “Abercrombie & Fitch” men’s Modern design wristwatch in sterling silver, circa 1929.

The sterling silver “Cushion” with the 987 movement is very rare, with only 53 produced from 1929 to 1931. It is listed in the 1927 and 1928 Hamilton price sheets at $50.00 along with the equally rare sterling silver "Barrel," but is not pictured in the catalogs. And included in this tiny production run were a very small number of watches branded for the famous adventure outfitter "Abercrombie & Fitch Co." of New York. Hamilton produced watches for Abercrombie in both sterling and gold fill in the late 1920s and 1930s, and this is one of only three or four that I have ever seen. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 35mm long and 27mm wide. Original luminous dial is very good, with some patina. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
