Welcome to Art Deco Wristwatches, offering the finest examples of vintage Art Deco styled wristwatches from famous manufacturers such as Hamilton, Elgin, Illinois, Gruen, Waltham, Bulova, and others.
Very scarce Elgin "Firestone" men's Art Deco design presentation wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1949.
Elgin used its "Model 4505" case from the Lord Elgin line of the early 1940s to create this special solid gold presentation watch for use by Firestone. I have only seen a few of these special models, all containing the 17-jewel, grade 624 movement and with the Firestone presentation dated from the late 1940s or early 1950s. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing only very light wear. The terraced steps and case edges are sharp. Caseback is excellent, with a 1949 presentation inscription from Firestone. Case measures 33mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is superb, with fancy black numerals and brilliant gold inlaid flush markers. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 624 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
