Very scarce Elgin "Firestone" men's Art Deco design presentation wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1948.

Elgin used its spectacular terraced design "Model 4505" case from the Lord Elgin line of the early 1940s to create a special solid gold presentation watch for use by Firestone. I have only seen a handful of these special watches, all containing the 17-jewel, grade 558 or 624 movement and with the Firestone presentation dated from the late 1940s or early 1950s. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. The terraced steps and case edges are distinct. Caseback is excellent, with the correct 1948 presentation inscription from Firestone. Case measures 33mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is excellent, has black printed Breguet numerals and gold inlaid markers. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 558 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
