Scarce Hamilton “Ellsworth” men’s Streamlined Moderne design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1935.

The “Ellsworth” was named for famed polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth and was catalogued only in 1935. Despite being attractively priced at only $37.50 in 1935, it was apparently not a very popular model as indicated by its extremely low production of just 2,551 watches. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 41mm long and 28mm wide. Original two-tone dial is very good. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
