Lord Elgin “Cheswick” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1952.
With its surrealist-inspired hour-glass case and dial, this model is often referred to as the "Salvador Dali" model by Elgin enthusiasts. It was priced at $79.50 in 1952. This example is in excellent condition showing only a tiny amount of bassing to the highpoints of the lugs, and the underside of the lugs. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 40mm long and 23mm wide. Original silver finish dial is excellent, has solid gold applied numerals and markers. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 626 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
