Rare IWC "Isomura" men's Modern design wristwatch in solid platinum, circa 1961.

Isomura was the Japanese distrubutor of IWC and sold these watches to the Japanese domestic market with Japanese-made cases to avoid prohibitively high tariffs on complete platinum watches imported from Switzerland. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing almost no wear. Case has sharp edges and alternating satin and bright finishes. Caseback is superb and unegraved. Case measures 39mm long and 35mm wide. Original dial is excellent, with some areas of light patina. Has new acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel IWC caliber 853 automatic wind movement, serviced a few years ago and still running strong.

Price $2,500. SOLD
