Scarce Hamilton “Wilshire” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K coral gold fill, circa 1940.
Hamilton produced coral (pink) wristwatches for only a year or two around the beginning of World War II... all models in pink are scarce due to their limited time in production. The coral “Wilshire” was introduced on March 14, 1940 and priced to consumers at $52.50. This example is in excellent condition with only very faint brassing to the highpoints of the bezel. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram. Case measures 50mm long and 22mm wide. Refinished two-tone coral finish dial is superb, has exploding Roman numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
