Scarce Elgin “Ristflo” men’s Streamline Moderne design driver’s wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1939.

This radical, deeply curved design was advertised to be worn on the edge of the wrist and was Elgin’s entry into the driver’s watch craze of the late 1930s. Offered only in 1939, it is quite scarce and this is only the third example I have ever offered. It is quite small for a man’s model and was priced at $45.00. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light brassing to the highpoints of the bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Underside of lugs show some wear. It measures 40mm long and 24mm wide. Original gold embossed numeral dial is excellent, with slight patina from age. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 533 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $275. SOLD
