Very rare Elgin "Lugless Model" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1930.

In 1930, Elgin introduced two lugless men's wristwatch models in which the strap slides into the center casebody from the side and is locked into place with a sliding pin. Both models were produced for Elgin by the Star Watch Case Company. I have only seen a handful of this model and it is quite rare. It is in excellent condition with light brassing to the bezel corners. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 32mm long and 28mm wide. Original dial is very good, has embossed numerals. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 428 manual wind movement, just serviced ad running strong.
