Scarce Elgin "DeLuxe 5709" men's Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 10K rose gold fill, circa 1944.
This model has yet to be identified by Elgin experts from existing catalogs or advertisements, but is properly signed on the case, dial, and movement. Based on the identification of other models in this series, it would have likely been assigned a model number 5709 by Elgin. It is in excellent condition with only a few specks of brassing to the bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 33mm long and 26mm wide. Original rose-finish dial is very good, has rhodium-plated embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 555 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
