Elgin “Model 1437” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in Veritas metal, circa 1935.

Veritas metal was Elgin's name for non-magnetic stainless steel. The "Model 1437" has a stepped case with a subtle engraving on the bezel, and was priced to consumers at $19.00 in 1935. It is in crisp, excellent condition showing only very light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some light marks. Case measures 37mm long and 29mm wide. Original embossed numeral dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 485 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
