Uncommon Hamilton “Lawton” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1954.

One of Hamilton’s more whimsical designs of the 1950s, the “Lawton” was a radical departure from the firm’s more conservative styles of the late 1940s and early 1950s, and has a deeply sculpted ornate bezel. This example is in crisp, near mint condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb and unengraved, with all of its factory brushed finish. The case measures 37mm long and 26mm wide. Original dial is superb and has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Original domed glass crystal is superb. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 747 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
