Elgin "Unidentified Model" men's Retro Modern design wristwatch in 10K rose gold fill, circa 1942.
This model turns up occasionally on internet auction websites, but Elgin researches haven't yet discovered its identity from known Elgin records. It has been seen in both rose gold fill and yellow gold fill, although this rose version appears scarcer than the yellow version. It has a square case with stepped lugs. This example is in excellent condition showing only a few tiny specks of brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 35mm long and 23mm wide. Original rose finish dial is very good, with fancy black numerals and brilliant copper inlaid markers. Has a faint scratch near 2 and some slight patina around the edges. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 557 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong
