Extremely rare Gruen "Quadron” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid platinum, circa 1928.

This Quadron model is extremely rare and is the only known example cased in platinum. A 1928 Gruen advertisement noted that Quadrons were priced from $50.00 to $285.00, with this model undoubtedly being the most expensive Quadron that Gruen offered.  It is crisp, excellent condition showing only very light wear, with distinct case edges. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a solid green gold movement holder. Inside of caseback contains the Swiss hallmark for platinum. Case measures 37mm long and 23mm wide. Inlaid enamel dial is excellent, with a few light marks. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Gruen Quadron grade 119 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
