Uncommon Lord Elgin “Model 218” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in two-tone 14K green and white gold fill, circa 1929.

A watch not often seen, the “Clubman 218” has a center case frame made of green gold fill, with the bezel and caseback being white gold fill. It was Elgin’s first wristwatch model to bear the “Lord Elgin” designation. It has an elegantly faceted bezel and very subtly faceted lugs that curved downward. The “Model 218” was priced to consumers at $50.00 in 1929. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 37mm long and 26mm wide. Refinished dial is superb, has gold embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. Has correct green gold filled crown. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 444 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $275. SOLD
