Scarce Elgin “Model E-9” men’s Art Noveau design wristwatch in 14K green gold fill, circa 1928.
The “Model E-9” has ornate Art Noveau design stylized engravings on the bezel and case sides, and was priced at $42.50 in 1928. It is quite scarce in green. This example is in excellent condition with a few specks of brassing to the bezel corners and a little brassing to the edges of the lugs. Engraved designs are bold and crisp. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with one tiny ding. Case measures 36mm long and 27mm wide. Factory original new old stock dial is superb, has new luminous. Has new glass crystal. Has original fancy engraved green crown. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 430 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
