Very scarce Hamilton “U.S. Marine Corps Aviator” men’s military-issued wristwatch in chrome plate and steel, circa 1943.

The scarcest of the U.S. military-issued watches from World War II, this model with the grade 2987 movement was specifically manufactured for the U.S. Marine Corps and just 2,926 were produced. It displays all the hallmarks of the Marine Corps aviator model: Hamilton Part No. 39102 case, grade 2987 movement, and white finish dial. It is in fair condition with the typical plating wear/corrosion to the chrome plated brass bezel. Screwdown steel caseback is very good. Case measures 39mm long and 32mm wide. Refinished luminous dial is superb. Has new acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 18-jewel Hamilton grade 2987 hack-setting manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
