Rare Gruen "Curvex Majesty" men's Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K gold fill, circa 1937.
The "Majesty" is the King of Curvexes and was the largest Curvex model produced by Gruen, with a case measuring around 52mm in length. It was priced at $59.50 in 1937. It is rare and highly desirable, and this is the first example I have ever offered. It is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing, not even under the lugs... which are usually found with most of the gold-filled layer worn away. Interior caseback marked with the correct "330-292" case reference number for the "Majesty." Caseback is superb and unengraved, with no wear or brassing. The case measures 52mm long and 21mm wide. Original two-tone dial is excellent. Acrylic crystal is excellent. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Gruen grade 330 Curvex manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
Price $2,450. SOLD
