Very rare Lord Elgin "Skyliner" men's Space Age design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1958.

The “Skyliner” was part of Elgin's "Horizon" series which had special crystals which were extended to the outer edge of the bezel. Most Horizon models were produced in gold-fill, this solid gold version is very rare and it is only the second example I have offered in 25 years. It was priced at $150.00 in 1958. It is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 40mm long and 33mm wide. Original gilt sunburst dial is superb. Correct acrylic wrap-around crystal is superb. This watch is powered by its correct 23-jewel Elgin grade 750 manual wind movement, serviced a few years ago and still running strong.
