Very scarce Hamilton “Palisade” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1931.

The “Palisade” was originally sold with a flexible metal bracelet, priced at $65.00 in 1931, making it one of the more expensive gold filled models that Hamilton sold during the Great Depression. Hamilton factory records show that 2,464 were sold in white gold fill, and this is the first example I have offered in nearly 5 years. As with the case of so many of these watches, the original metal bracelet has been lost, and I have replaced it with a leather strap. This example is in excellent condition with only a little brassing to the tips of the lugs and the edges of the casebody. Caseback is very good and unengraved, with several dents. The case measures 35mm long and 29mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Original gold embossed numeral dial is excellent, with some slight patina and some spotting to the gold numerals. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
