Scarce Hamilton "Wesley B" men's Retro Modern design presentation wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1959.
The "Wesley B" was introduced in the early 1950s as an updated version of the 1941 "Wesley" with Hamilton's new 12/0-size grade 754 movement (and later 770 movement), which replaced the 14/0-size 982M movement. The "Wesley B" never appeared in any Hamilton consumer sales catalogue, and it was used almost exclusively by Hamilton's Awards Division for corporate presentations. The watch has a large, heavy case with hooded lugs. This example is in crisp excellent condition showing almost no wear. The bezel facets and lug edges are sharp. Caseback is superb, with a Hamilton factory-etched presentation from IBM. The case measures 41mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is excellent, has solid 18K gold applied numerals and markers. Original thick flat grlass crystal is superb. The watch is powerd by its correct 22-jewel Hamilton grade 770 manual movement. Movement will be serviced prior to shipping.
