Scarce Elgin “Model 1156” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1933.
This unusual model has center lug mounts which take a notched strap held with screw pins like the Hamilton "Mount Vernon" model... both cases were produced by Schwab & Wuischpard. It is a scarce model and this is one of only a few I have ever offered. It was priced at $42.50 in 1933. This example is in excellent condition with only very faint brassing to the highpoints of the bezel and lugs. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram. The case measures 39mm long and 23mm wide. Older refinished dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 484 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
Price $350. SOLD
