Rare Elgin “Campus 94X” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in chromium nickel, circa 1933.
This yet-to-be identified model in the Campus 940 series is identical to the “Campus 942” model, but has a series of incuse lines inlaid with black enamel. It is the only example I have ever seen. It has a large curved case with hooded lugs which conceal where the strap attaches. This example is in excellent condition with only some light scratching to the chromium plated bezel. Caseback is very good and unengraved, with some pitting. The case measures 38mm long and 24mm wide. Refinished gold embossed dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 488 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
