Hamilton Tonneau Engraved 14K
Very rare Hamilton “Tonneau Engraved” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K green gold, circa 1929.
With its large distinctive case and ornate engravings, the “Tonneau Engraved” is one of the classic Hamilton designs from the 1920s. It was priced to consumers at $87.00 in 1929 and only 675 were produced in solid green gold. It is a rare watch and this is only the second example I have ever offered. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear to the unpolished case. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 34mm long and 27mm wide. Older refinished dial is very good, with a few light marks. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Green gold-filled crown shows only light wear.
