Very rare Lord Elgin “Model 4512” men’s Retro Moderne design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1947.

This unusual Lord Elgin model has a very heavy gold case with flexible lugs made by the boutique casemaker Armand Lemieux of New York. It is a rare watch, appearing only in a 1947 Elgin promotional brochure, priced at $200.00. This is only the second example I have ever offered for sale. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing almost no wear. Caseback is superb and unengraved, with much of its original factory bushed finish. The case measures 39mm long and 22mm wide. Original dial is excellent, has solid 18K gold numerals and pyramid and baguette markers. Original domed glass crystal is superb. This watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 559 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
