Very scarce Hamilton “Carlisle” men's Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1938.
The "Carlisle" has a very long, curved and stepped case, and was priced to consumers at $50.00 in 1938. It is very scarce with the two-tone inlaid enamel dial, and this is the first example I have offered in several years. This example is in excellent condition with only some very faint brassing to the edges of the lugs. The beveled angles of the bezel are sharp and distinct. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Underside of the lugs show light wear. The case measures 43mm long and 21mm wide. Original two-tone inlaid enamel dial is superb. Glass crystal is excellent. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 980 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
