Gruen "Curvex Peer" men's Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1936.

The Curvex "Peer" was one of the two initial Curvex models introduced in 1935, originally identified simply as the "Curvex" model. It was one of the watches that Gruen specifically advertised as being designed by Count Alexis de Sahknoffsky. It also features the earliest dial configuration with the "Precision" marking below the "Gruen" name and the "Curvex" name near the sub-seconds chapter. This example is in excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent, with an elaborate presentation engraving. The case measures 46mm long and 20mm wide. Original marker dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Gruen second-series grade 311 Curvex manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $325.
