Hamilton “Donald” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold with rare factory-original black-finish dial, circa 1953.
The "Donald" was one of Hamilton's best-selling gold models and was priced at $110.00 in 1953. This example has a very rare factory-original black nickel satin-finish inlaid gilt dial. This is only the second "Donald" with an original black dial that I have ever seen. The watch is in crisp, excellent condition with sharp case edges. Caseback is excellent, with presentation engraving from the Norton Company. The case measures 36mm long and 22mm wide. Factory-original black satin-finish dial is superb. Has inlaid gilt name and tracks, and solid 18K gold applied numerals. Glass crystal is superb. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982M manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
