Scarce Hamilton “Contour” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1938.

The “Contour” has flexible lugs and was Hamilton’s only watch specifically designed as a "driver's watch" which could be worn on the side of the wrist or the top of the wrist. It was catalogued only in 1938 and 1939, priced at $52.50. This example is in excellent condition with only very light brassing to the highpoints of the bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few very tiny spots of wear in the corners. Case measures 39mm long and 27mm wide. Original inlaid enamel dial is superb, has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 980 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
