Lord Elgin Panorama
Scarce Lord Elgin "Panorama" men's Space Age design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1958.
The "Panorama" was part of Elgin's Horizon line of watches that featured special "wrap-around" crystals that extended to the very outer edge of the bezel, allowing for more of the unique Space Age dial to be displayed. It was priced at $89.50 in 1958. This example is in excellent condition with only a few specks of brassing to the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few tiny specks of wear. Case measures 37mm long and 31mm wide. Original two-piece bright silver finish etched dial is superb, with a few faint marks. Has new old stock genuine Elgin acrylic "wrap around" crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 23-jewel grade 724 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
