Lord Elgin Model 4817

Scarce Lord Elgin “Model 4817” men’s Retro Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill with original factory bracelet, circa 1952.

A watch not often seen, the “Model 4817” has a large, rectangular case with stepped rounded lugs, and a striking two-tone X-patterned dial. It is scarce with its original factory-supplied Hadley bracelet. This example is in crisp, near excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 41mm long and 28mm wide. Original dial is very good with some patina at the very top edge, mostly covered by the edge of the crystal. Has an X-pattern two-tone finish and solid gold applied numerals and markers. Has new acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 680 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Original Hadley stretch bracelet is excellent showing only light wear.
