Scarce Hamilton "Russell" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1943.
The "Russell" has a cushion-shaped case with a ribbed bezel and large articulated lugs, and was priced at $40.00. It was catalogued for only two years, in 1940 and 1941. The is the second version of the Roman numeral dial, two-tone gilt, as shown in the 1941 catalog. This example is in excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent, with a 1943 engraving. Case measures 49mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished two-tone gilt is very excellent, has brilliant inlaid gold Roman numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by it correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987A manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
