Gruen Imperial Tank 14K
Rare Gruen "Imperial Tank" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1927.
The "Imperial Tank" has a large, rectangular case with an engraved bezel and sides, and was priced at $55.00 in 1927. This version with the engraved bezel is quite rare and this is the first example I have offered in many years. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Engraved bezel designs are sharp. Caseback is excellent, with a 1927 engraving. Case measures 38mm long and 25mm wide. Original inlaid enamel dial is excellent. Has new vintage-appearing luminous. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Gruen grade 885 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Has original Gruen dust-guard crown.
