Rare Alpina Gruen "Model 71GW" ladies' Machine Age design wristwatch in two-tone solid 14K green and white gold, circa 1929.
Alpina and Gruen collaborated beginning in 1929 to market Gruen watches in Europe. These co-branded watches are quite rare, as the Alpina-Gruen relationship ended around 1937. This ladies' model has an austere two-tone solid gold co-branded case and co-branded inlaid enamel dial. It is the only example I have ever seen. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 27mm long and 18mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Gruen grade 155 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
