Hamilton Cambridge Platinum

Rare Hamilton “Cambridge” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in solid platinum, circa 1947.

The “Cambridge” shares the same case design as the 14K gold “Brock” model, but is made in platinum. Priced to consumers at a whopping $300.00 in 1947, the Hamilton catalog described the watch as the “...distinctive mark of a man who is free to choose as he will.” It is quite rare, significantly harder to find than its platinum counterpart the “Rutledge.” This example is in excellent condition showing only light wear and a few faint scratches. Caseback is excellent and unegraved. Case measures 38mm long and 21mm wide. Refinished dial is superb, has rhodium-plated, solid 18K gold numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982M manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $1,850. SOLD
