Rare Bulova "Croydon" ladies' Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill with polychrome enamel, circa 1928.
The "Croydon" has geometric patterns inlaid with red, green, and black enamel, inspired by Southwestern Native American designs, particularly those found in Hopi jewelry. It was catalogued as a ladies' sports watch and was priced at $37.50 in 1928. It is a rare model and this is only the second example I have ever offered. It is in crisp, excellent condition showing only very light wear. Enamel is superb and complete. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 34mm long and 17mm wide. Original inlaid enamel dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Bulova grade 6AP manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
Price $600. SOLD
