Gruen 75th Anniversary 14K
Scarce Gruen “75th Anniversary” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1949.
This Gruen case design was part of Gruen's "75th Anniversary" series from 1949. It has a heavy solid gold case with a dial containing genuine diamonds set in white gold markers at 12, 3, and 9 o'clock. This example is in crisp, near mint condition with sharp edges. The lugs and the caseback still have their frosted finishes. Caseback is superb and unengraved. Case measures 38mm long and 22mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Glass crystal is excellent, with a few faint marks. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Gruen Veri-Thin grade 430 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
