Elgin “Crusader 1815” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1937.
This Elgin has a sharply angular and stepped case, and was priced at $37.50 in 1937. This example is in excellent condition with only a few specks of brassing, and a few light marks to the top edge of the bezel. Caseback is excellent, with an Art Deco style shaded monogram. Case measures 37mm long and 25mm wide. Original dial is excellent, with slight patina from age. Has gold embossed exploding Roman numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 524 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
