Rare Elgin “Model 1650” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 10K white gold fill, circa 1935.

This unusual model only appeared in an Elgin dealer brochure around 1935, priced at $50.00. This model contains Elgin’s last and finest 6/0-size movement, the 19-jewel grade 499, of which only 5,000 were produced and placed in only a few case designs. This case design was likely produced to use up the remaining grade 499 movements in stock at the Elgin factory. This is one of only two examples I have ever seen of this model. It is in excellent condition with only a few tiny specks of brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 37mm long and 27mm wide. Original dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Elgin grade 499 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $300.
