Elgin "American Efficiency 453" men's Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1929.
The "American Efficiency 453" has a large hexagonal case and was priced at $41.00 in 1929. This example is in excellent condition with only a little brassing to the tips of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with a few faint dings. Underside of lugs shows some wear. Case measures 36mm long and 30mm wide. Factory original new-old-stock black numeral dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct Elgin 17-jewel grade 487 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
