Very scarce Elgin “Ristflo” men’s Streamline Moderne design driver’s wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1939.

This radical, deeply curved design was advertised to be worn on the edge of the wrist and was Elgin’s entry into the driver’s watch craze of the late 1930s. Offered only in 1939, it is quite scarce and this is only the second example I have ever offered. It is quite small for a man’s model and was priced at $45.00. This example is in excellent condition showing only a few specks of brassing to the bezel corners. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. It measures 40mm long and 24mm wide, with the dial measuring about 15mm by 13mm. Refinished black nickel-finish gilt dial is superb, has gold embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 533 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $375. SOLD
