Scarce Hamilton “Whitney” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1931.

The “Whitney” has a very striking flared and stepped case... its dramatic design and low production make it among the most desirable of the early 1930s Hamilton models. It is a scarce model, with only 3,009 produced in yellow. It was priced to consumers at $55.00 in 1931. This example is in excellent condition with just a little brassing to the bezel corners and lug tips. Caseback is excellent, with an elaborate engraving, and a touch of wear along one edge. Has correct, original flat crown to fit the case recess. The case measures 36mm long and 30mm wide. Older refinished dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $775.  SOLD
