Scarce Hamilton “Whitney” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1931.
Introduced in January of 1931, the “Whitney” has a large and very striking flared and stepped case. Its dramatic design and low production make it among the most desirable of the early 1930s Hamilton models. It is a quite scarce, with only 4,136 produced in white. It was priced to consumers at $55.00 in 1931. This example is in excellent condition with only a very small amount of brassing to the bezel corners and lug tips. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some light dings and scratches. The case measures 36mm long and 30mm wide. Refinished luminous dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
Price $700. SOLD
