Hamilton Wayne 14K

Very scarce Hamilton “Wayne” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1937.

The “Wayne” and the "Seneca" were the first two solid gold grade 982 watches introduced by Hamilton, on April 1, 1935. It was priced at $100.00 and was catalogued only in 1935, although Hamilton continued to sell it for a few years afterward. It is a very scarce model and this is only the third one I have ever offered. This example is unusually nice, with all of its bezel edges distinct. Curved caseback has a signature inlaid in blue enamel. The case measures 38mm long and 22mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Original silver finish dial is superb, has solid 18K gold applied numerals. The watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $925. SOLD
